What is a good flash unit for the Pentax K100D under $200?
I need a flash unit for my class, and am having a hard time finding a decent one. I don’t need anything special, I really only need this flash unit for the class, considering I rarely even us my on camera flash. I live in Canada so if anyone knows any shops or sites that are nice to us Canuck’s, that’d be awesome.
I wish I could purchase from Amazon but it seems they only ship these types of items to the US only.
I think your best choice will be the Pentax AF 360 FGZ Flash. It retails for $249, but you can pick it up on Amazon (link below) for about $175 plus shipping. This is the flash I use. I personally use it on a Pentax *ist D-L, but many of the reviewers use it on the K10D and K100D. The major complaint about it is that it does not swivel, but this is only an annoyance if you want to take vertical shots and bounce the flash off the ceiling. If you are just looking for a good flash unit, this is excellent. The nice thing about this particular one is that it will communicate with your camera, and change settings automatically as you focus/zoom, etc. Hope that works for you!
