How do you get a camera not to make an Lcd Screen flicker and make “waves” appear on the screen?
I am currently using an HDR-HC1 HD Camcorder and was wondering what I could do to stop my LCD screen looking all weird when I film it.
Why do the professional cameras not show this “effect” when they film people using a computer for example?
At the risk of over simplifying things, all video consists of a series of still photographs that are displayed on a screen. Each photograph is displayed for a very short time, too short of a time for a human brain to discern the individual images.
With professional equipment it is possible to lock the timing of a camera and video display such the camera records an image exactly when the TV is displaying an image.
Another way: If the image is static, the camera could have a very slow shutter time and average out several frames.
Another way: With modern technology the TV image can be inserted in post production rather than recording it in real time.
I don’t know of any cheap way to do this with a camcorder but this isn’t my area of expertise.
